Latyr Diouf
Latyr Diouf is a postdoctoral fellow - data analysis at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT. He has worked as a cotton breeder at the Senegalese Agricultural Research Institute (ISRA) from 2019–2024 (Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Equipment, and Food Security) before joining the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT in April 2022.
His area of expertise is focused on:
• Developing and improving methodologies for assessing the suitability and effectiveness of adaptation strategies in agriculture, with a focus on West Africa (Senegal, mainly), using empirical and mainly quantitative research methods.
• Coordinating and contributing to the implementation of research projects through close collaboration with other researchers at the Alliance as well as the involved stakeholders in the target countries.
• Writing and publishing articles in peer-reviewed journals that highlight findings from the projects and present research findings at international conferences.
• Liaising and maintaining communication with project donors, responding to information requests, and preparing project progress reports and policy briefs.
• Supporting data collection, literature review and analysis, and the translation of scientific findings into policy recommendations for sustainable agriculture.
• Managing projects, developing new project proposals, and applying for funding.
