Our presence in Nepal is focused on contributing to Nepal’s Agriculture Development Strategy 2015-2035, contributing actionable Alliance research on food systems transformation, climate action, the access and conservation of agrobiodiversity, pest and disease management, and innovations and partnerships to champion better livelihoods and food and nutrition security in the country. By strengthening our collaboration with national and local-level experts, as well as with relevant stakeholders, we capture on-ground and science-based evidence to contribute to building resilience across Nepalese agri-food value chains.
The wide range of disciplines and thematic areas undertaken by the Alliance and its partners reflect the value of the Nepal Himalayas as one of the centers of globally important gene pools of traditional crop biodiversity, with significant opportunities to address climate change, malnutrition and environmental degradation.
