The Alliance at UNFCCC COP31
The 31st UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP31) will take place from 9–20 November 2026 in Antalya, Türkiye, under the Turkish Presidency and with Australia leading the formal negotiations. COP31 is being framed as an “Implementation COP”, focused on translating climate commitments into concrete policies, investments and measurable action.
The Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT will support discussions on the future of the Sharm el-Sheikh Joint Work on Agriculture and Food Security (SJWA), sharing research and practical solutions to turn climate commitments into action. A key part of its engagement will be advancing stronger links between climate, biodiversity and land action through COP31 Presidency dialogues and Türkiye's Turquoise Nexus initiative.
