The Alliance at the Global Conference on Women in Agrifood Systems (GCWAS) 2026
The Global Conference on Women in Agrifood Systems (GCWAS-2026), organized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the Trust for Advancement of Agricultural Sciences (TAAS), CGIAR, and the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Authority (PPVFRA), with the Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) as one of the co-organizers, will be held in New Delhi, India, from 12 March 2026 under the theme “Driving Progress, Attaining New Heights.”

The conference will serve as a global platform for advancing dialogue, evidence, and action to strengthen the role of women across agrifood systems.
The conference will convene a diverse group of stakeholders to bring the latest evidence and insights informing policies, investments, and programs shaping agrifood systems at the national, regional, and global levels. By fostering exchange across research, policy, and practice, the event aims to accelerate progress toward more equitable, resilient, and inclusive agrifood systems.
