In 2024, the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT expanded its global reach through strategic use of social media and our website. From increased engagement on LinkedIn and Instagram, to rising web traffic and content performance, our digital platforms amplified research, shared stories from the field, and connected with partners around the world

Our social media channels in 2024 saw the rise of new experiments and formats, especially on Instagram and LinkedIn. We shared institutional updates, research publications, and snapshots of our work from all the regions we are working in. The Alliancers are a group of young communicators coming from different regions: Owen in Africa, Eli in the Americas, and Alie in Asia. They banded together for this Instagram project to show our followers what is behind the scenes of our research, and to highlight our work on the ground with content accessible to anyone.

Thanks to our constant effort in reaching new audiences, in 2024 our institutional website received more than 690K visits, with almost 1,2M pageviews and over 5.2K downloads. Our users were able to explore 343 different stories and event pages. Artificial Intelligence also started visiting our site.

Talking to French speakers
In September 2024, we launched the French version of our institutional website, to have a more direct connection to West Africa and all of the Francophone countries in the world.
