Daniel Aja
Daniel Aja is a passionate environmental scientist dedicated to advancing sustainable land-use practices. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Soil Science & Environmental Management from Ebonyi State University, Nigeria (2011). He earned a master’s degree in environmental science (Energy & Climate Change) from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia (2018), and a Ph.D. in Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana (2023). Daniel is a multi-scholarship award winner with research interests that revolves around geographic information systems (GIS) for climate readiness. He is proficient in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning techniques for geospatial analysis. Currently, Daniel is a visiting researcher at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT in Cali, Colombia, through the CLIFF-GRADS fellowship. At CIAT, he conducts spatial analysis and modeling to support research activities related to work package 4 of the MITIGATE+ multifunctional landscape project.
