How is my donation used?
Your donation helps smallholder farmers in Kenya plant native trees on degraded land, with farmers receiving direct, secure digital payments to their mobile phones, plus in-kind support such as seedlings and local monitoring work. Funds are channelled to MyFarmTrees through Bioversity International USA, the charitable arm of the Alliance of Bioversity and CIAT.
How are the trees verified?
Every tree is recorded through the MyFarmTrees mobile app for Android) at the point of planting — including GPS location, species, date, and farmer details. This record is written to a blockchain, creating a permanent, tamper-proof chain of evidence from seed collection to measured tree growth.
Can I donate in cryptocurrency?
Yes. MyFarmTrees accepts crypto donations through The Giving Block, one of the world's leading crypto philanthropy platforms. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and a range of other currencies are accepted. Donations may be tax-deductible depending on your jurisdiction. Due diligence for the donations is an embedded part of the digital infrastructure for the donations.
Will I receive proof of my donation and its impact?
Yes. All donors receive a confirmation of their donation, for their records, also compatible for tax deduction. You will be able to check updates on the impact of the campaign on the MyFarmTrees website.
