Information on the new Alliance Logo - Alliance Bioversity International - CIAT

In November 2022, the Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) refreshed its brand with a new logo.

Alliance new logo

Our new, simplified logo retains elements from both individual Center logos (Bioversity International and CIAT), thus honoring our history and combined track record of more than 100 years, but now presenting the Alliance as an organization operating as one, not two working in tandem.

The semicircle lines using vibrant colors represent the diversity of life and resources on our planet, as a symbol of our commitment to life and sustainability on the globe. With novel partnerships, the Alliance continues to generate evidence and mainstream innovations to transform food systems and landscapes so that they sustain the planet, drive prosperity, and nourish people in a climate crisis.

The Alliance is part of CGIAR, a global research partnership for a food-secure future dedicated to transforming food, land, and water systems in a climate crisis.

In January 2019, Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) joined forces globally through the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT. The two Centers have unified their operations and governance structures through a partnership agreement; however, they continue to hold separate legal statuses. The Alliance is not a legal entity. Bioversity International and CIAT are separate legal entities, and they will continue to operate as separate legal entities, maintaining the status obtained with the respective host governments. The Alliance’s name and logo are currently used for branding purposes only, and not in relation to the Alliance’s legal status.
