Resilience strategies are multiplying, but coherence is not. Too many solutions remain siloed, fragmented, or unfit for long-term uncertainty. The challenge now is not just to scale activity, but to scale what works and what enables systemic and forward-looking resilience that is equitable for all: strategies that are inclusive, adaptive, and built for addressing complex challenges. This session asks what it would really take to shift from narrative to nuance—and from concept to capacities—using a solid evidence base synthesized by the Resilience Science Must-Knows.

Around the world, Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities steward forests, waters, and food cultures that underpin biodiversity, climate resilience and nutrition.

Technological innovations promise new tools for restoration and food security. But they also raise hard questions about sovereignty, cultural continuity, benefit-sharing, and ethics—especially when traditional foods (e.g., African green leafy vegetables), seed systems, and community livelihoods are at stake. 

This convening asks whether technology can genuinely democratize climate action with Indigenous knowledge—without eroding rights, cultures, or the right to food.
