Silvia Araujo de Lima

Silvia is currently a senior research associate in the multifunctional landscapes lever within the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT. She is the project coordinator of an EU-IFAD funded project exploring how to support agroecological transitions in a sustainable way through collaboration with farmers' cooperatives, private sector, academia and local governmental organizations considering local context and knowledge. Presently, she is involved with multiple initiatives, including the CGIAR Science Programs on Policy Innovations and on Multifunctional Landscapes, as well as the Agrobiodiversity Index and IDRC projects and research studies related to school meals. 
She holds a BA in applied languages and a master’s degree in human and social sciences related to information, knowledge and data management, bringing a solid foundation in information and communication sciences and a deep understanding of today’s digital information ecosystem and Information ‘ecologies’.
Skilled in systematic reviews and metanalysis methodologies, social network analysis, trilingual communication and translations’ reviews, her multidisciplinary background helps to support research initiatives with rigorous analysis, structured methodologies and a strong digital culture.
She is fluent in French, English and Spanish with a good knowledge of Portuguese which is helpful to support stakeholder engagement and enable effective knowledge transfer. She is motivated by ways to make information about agrobiodiversity and agroecology more accessible, meaningful and actionable, considering human-centered-design, open science and fair principles.
