Oscar Eduardo Diaz Forero

Agricultural Engineer Specialist in Economics, with more than 15 years of experience in Rural Development and Conservation of Strategic Ecosystems affected by unsustainable agricultural activities, promoting the formulation of public policies through the work in organizations and public and private institutions of the agricultural and environmental sector that lead issues of great impact at local, regional and national level, in order to establish professional and academic links through the implementation of new strategies, with projects, plans and policies focused on the sustainability of sectors such as agriculture, environment and rural development. I also seek to share knowledge with experts in the sector in search of viable solutions to the needs currently faced by the actors of the productive chains involved in the aforementioned sectors, through the implementation of skills and knowledge acquired to create or adapt approaches that benefit the rural population, taking into account the generation of capacities and the transfer of knowledge for the adoption and mitigation of climate change through the adoption of productive reconversion measures and the promotion of conservation and restoration agreements of strategic ecosystems.

In a complementary manner, I have had the opportunity to carry out professional development studies in international agriculture and rural development at Cornell University as a beneficiary of the Hubert H. Humphrey scholarship offered by the Fullbright program of the U.S. Department of State of the United States of America. In the same way, I was selected as a public servant linked to the Rural Development Agency to develop studies in the Republic of South Korea, focused on the promotion of sustainable agricultural cooperatives to transfer the knowledge and skills acquired in the productive systems of Colombia.
