Mirian Colindres

Mirian Colindres is a Senior Research Associate with over 30 years of experience in designing and managing projects focused on food systems, value chains, and empowering vulnerable communities. Since 2022, she has been part of the Alliance Bioversity International and CIAT, where her work focuses on analyzing food production, transformation, and consumption systems, with a special emphasis on market systems analysis and their impact on access to resources and opportunities for smallholder producers and vulnerable communities.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras, a postgraduate degree in International Trade and Economics, and a Master's degree in International Trade and Finance from the University of Barcelona, Spain. Additionally, she has specialized in Agricultural Marketing through courses in Germany and pursued further education on Improving Productivity and Quality of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MiPYMEs) through programs at the Universidad Técnica Nacional and JICA in Costa Rica.

Mirian has worked directly with producer groups, micro-entrepreneurs, indigenous communities, women, and youth, creating sustainable solutions for market penetration, business development, and rights protection. Her approach also includes working with the private sector, driving the development of value chains and promoting private sector engagement in projects that support inclusion and economic development. She has led multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, fostering continuous learning, process improvement, and local capacity building, always with a focus on enhancing the well-being and overall development of the communities she serves.

Her experience spans areas such as value chain analysis and development, market systems analysis, designing and evaluating international cooperation projects, market expansion, business development consulting, capacity building, high-performance team management, and implementing social empowerment strategies, particularly for vulnerable groups.
