Millicent Omala
Dr Millicent is a trained environmentalist with a passion for facilitating community-driven initiatives that improve livelihoods while protecting natural ecosystems. For over 11 years, she has implemented various projects in food systems strengthening, climate change response, and natural resources conservation in Kenya, Ghana, and Nepal. She has actively participated in climate and food systems policy dialogues in Kenya and Ghana.
At the Alliance, her main focus is on supporting agribusinesses to efficiently deliver climate-smart solutions to rural smallholder farmers and unlocking climate finance for agribusinesses and smallholder farmers.
An Award winning author in sustainability and climate change, Millicent holds a PhD in Environmental Studies (Climate Finance) from Kenyatta University-Kenya, a master’s degree in Environmental Governance from the University of Freiburg-Germany, and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Community Development from Kenyatta University-Kenya.
She currently works with the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT as a climate finance policy expert.
