Keith Kalyegira
Keith Kalyegira is a member of the board of trustees of the Alliance. He is an advisor on strategy, investments, capital markets to public and private sector organizations. He chairs the Audit & Risk committee of Airtel Uganda and was appointed member of the Investment Committee of the Investment for Industrial Transformation and Employment project in Uganda. From 2016 to 2021, he was a member of the board of trustees of The Environmental Conservation Trust of Uganda.
From 2013 to 2023 he was the CEO of the Capital Markets Authority, a Ugandan institution that regulates the financial markets, when Uganda became an Appendix A member of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
From 2008 to 2013, he carried out institutional reforms in the electricity, financial and water sectors of Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda and Tanzania as a consultant, advisor and executive. He was responsible for improving the performance of public enterprises in Uganda from 2003 to 2008 as Head of the Parastatal Monitoring Unit and chaired several enterprises’ Audit committees. From 1993 to 2003 he was an executive in Shell Uganda and Shell Energy South Africa.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Makerere University and an MBA from University of Cape Town. He is a member of the Chartered Governance Institute, UK.
