Fanny Howland

Fanny is doctor in anthropology of development. Her thesis focuses in analyzing the role of different discursive and cognitive registers on climate and climate change in the decision-making of family farmers in Cauca (Colombia) in the context of the implementation of development policies, programs and interventions. She works as researcher in CIAT since 2014.
Her research focuses on gender, policy analysis, discourse and perception analysis and climate change. She has more than 5 years of experience working in gender related topics and more than 10 years in the design and implementation of qualitative research.
In particular her gender research focuses on gaps in gender integration in climate change, food security and nutrition and agriculture policies, but also on gender differentiated perception on climate change impacts, and on the role of social movements in policy incidence.
She also conducts theory-based assessments, through contribution analysis. Fanny is French and fluent in English and Spanish.
