Andrea Cecilia Sanchez Bogado

Andrea C. Sanchez B. is currently a Research Assistant at the Alliance of Bioversity International & CIAT, working with the Multifunctional Landscapes Team in Montpellier, France. She is passionate about researching the relationships between diversified farming systems, biodiversity, crop yields, and farm income. With experience in leading and co-authoring academic papers, constructing and validating databases for global meta-analyses, and developing qualitative and quantitative review protocols, Andrea is dedicated to creating a sustainable and inclusive future for agriculture and food systems.
In addition to her work at the Alliance, Andrea is a PhD student at the University of Montpellier in France, where they are enrolled in the GAIA doctoral school. Her thesis, titled "Evidence-based assessment of benefits and trade-offs of diversified farming systems," focuses on identifying the drivers and enablers of the adoption of diversified farming systems through global meta-analysis.
Andrea has been involved in various projects, including the FABLE project, Agroecological Transitions project, Agroecology Initiative project, and the Sustainable Foods project from 2019 to present. She has also contributed to the development of holistic metrics for monitoring private-sector and value chain outcomes, with pilot projects in Peru and Vietnam.
