Recoleccion de germoplasma de Phaseolus vulgaris en el Centro- Sur del Peru, Mayo 14 - Junio 1, 1988
https://hdl.handle.net/10568/71949
Abstract
Seventy nine samples of two Phaseolus species were collected during a germplasm exploration in Cusco. Of particular interest are: 25 landraces of P. vulgaris (of which 7 are popped beans) and 8 populations of a particular wild common bean. Strong indications about the existence of a crop-weed complex for P. vulgaris in the higher Apurimac are discussed. (AS)

Abstract
Eighty-nine samples of Phaseolus germplasm were collected during a three-week exploration in the eastern slopes of the Bolivian Andes. Of particular interest are: 12 samples of lima bean, 4 samples of wild P. vulgaris and 64 samples of common bean landraces. Some problems related to the origin of the cultigens, to the formation of three classes of landraces in common bean, are discussed, as well as the mechanisms…

The potential of neglected and underutilized species for improving diets and nutrition
Bioversity International (Bioversity International)
https://hdl.handle.net/10568/101896
Abstract
Why have our food systems come to rely on such a narrow range of plant species of limited nutritional value? Today three staple crops (rice, maize and wheat) account for more than 50% of calories consumed while we continue to disregard the huge diversity of nutrient-rich plant species utilized by humanity throughout our history. The…
