Workshop on Climate Transparency in Latin America Held in Peru
In Lima, representatives from Peru’s Ministry of the Environment and Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation participated in a workshop aimed at strengthening the Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system.
How the workshop unfolded
The workshop combined technical presentations, participatory exercises, and training modules to analyze the current state of the MRV system in Peru. Technical findings were compared with participants’ experiences, gaps in data, and methodologies. Furthermore, institutional arrangements were identified and inputs were defined for the development of a roadmap, aimed at improving the reporting system and moving toward Tier 2 methodologies.
