The 53rd Plenary Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) will take place in Rome from October 20-24, 2025, bringing together governments, civil society, researchers and community leaders to accelerate global efforts to end hunger and malnutrition. The event will provide a platform to showcase evidence-based policies, innovative approaches, and multi-stakeholder solutions that build resilient, equitable, and sustainable food systems.

Held at FAO’s headquarters, this year’s CFS session will emphasize the importance of translating global science into local action, fostering cross-regional knowledge exchange, and highlighting the community leaders driving transformation on the ground.

Together with partners, the Alliance will demonstrate how science, innovation, and collaboration can tackle food insecurity, improve nutrition, and scale solutions across national and regional contexts.

Science is clear, but pathways are fragmented. Too many solutions in food systems remain siloed, context-specific, or disconnected from action. The challenge now is not just to share knowledge, but to translate it into policies and practices that are actionable, inclusive, and resilient. This session launches the 2025 EAT-Lancet Commission Summary for and with Policymakers, bringing together insights from Commissioners, national policymakers, farmers, consumers and diverse food system actors. Through interactive discussions, it explores how evidence can move from report to roadmap, highlighting solutions that are systemic, scalable, and grounded in real-world action.
