Yovita Ivanova

Yovita Ivanova is the Agroecological Transitions Peru’s lead. She is a Senior Manager with the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT of the CGIAR.

She is a Bulgarian-born researcher based in Peru and the US, an economist (MA in Economics from the Economic University in Sofia, Bulgaria) and a sustainable development specialist (MA in International Relations from the University of Miami, US) with an extensive professional background in Europe, North and South America in areas related to climate change (deforestation-free business models), biodiversity-based businesses, and sustainable finance.

She has held various government positions (adviser to the VM of Agriculture in Peru, coordinator of the Agriculture Development Office of the Peruvian Anti-drug Agency) and worked as a consultant for various UN (UNEP and UNCTAD), and bilateral cooperation agencies (GIZ and USAID).

Currently, Yovita teaches also Green Economy courses at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP).
