Yovita Ivanova

Yovita Ivanova is a Senior Manager at the Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture of the CGIAR. She is the Alliance Coordinator for the Agroecological Regenerative Cocoa and Peru-HUB projects and the Agroecological Transitions Peru’s lead.  

She is a Bulgarian-born researcher based in Peru and the US, an economist (MA in Economics from the Economic University in Sofia, Bulgaria) and a sustainable development specialist (MA in International Relations from the University of Miami, US) with an extensive professional background in Europe, North and South America in areas related to climate change (deforestation-free business models), biodiversity-based businesses, and sustainable finance. She is committed to leveraging private sector relations, fundraising, fund management, and project management expertise to drive positive change in businesses, societies, and the environment 

She has held various government positions (adviser to the VM of Agriculture in Peru, coordinator of the Agriculture Development Office of the Peruvian Anti-drug Agency) and worked as a consultant for various UN (UNEP and UNCTAD), and bilateral cooperation agencies (GIZ and USAID).  

Yovita is a Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Affairs (NYU) and an adjunct professor in Green Economy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP).
