Reem Al Saffar
Reem Al Saffar is a Job Trainee of the Partnerships & Communications Unit at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT of CGIAR. As part of the Accelerate for Impact Platform (A4IP) team, she provides support in the planning, implementation and management of core acceleration activities and projects in the MENA region such as the AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge. With a BSc in Biology from Hacettepe University, she leverages her scientific background to combine an intersectional understanding of science, policy and business in the context of agrifood systems in CWANA.
Prior to working at the Alliance, Reem was a member of the Youth Policy Board at the World Food Forum where she worked on identifying and drafting policy recommendations and in providing strategic direction to the activities carried out within the WFF. Her experience in youth mobilization and multi-stakeholder engagement gained through her civic work at her organization, MENA Youth Network, enables her to bring a bold and fresh perspective to the projects she is involved in. She was head of the Iraqi Youth Delegation to COP27 and a member of the Greenpeace Youth Delegation to COP28 in Dubai, where she was also a spokesperson for the Children & Youth Pavilion.
