Paula is a Senior Research Associate in the Data-Driven Sustainability group under the Digital Inclusion research theme at the Alliance.

With expertise in Remote Sensing, GIS, and deep learning, she monitors land cover and land use changes in Latin America and Africa, identifying environmental impacts of commodity sourcing to inform key stakeholders. Additionally, she works in the Multifunctional Landscapes research theme, contributing to the expansion of the SERVIR-Amazonia program in Caribbean countries and providing technical support in geospatial technologies.

Her background is in Topographic Engineering, and she is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering at Universidad del Valle, focusing on Shade Tree Mapping using Remote Sensing.
