Paula Andrea Lozano Montaña

I am a Biologist from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, with a master's degree in Science - Biology. I work for the Rice program at Alliance Bioversity and CIAT in the physiology group, at the campus located in Palmira, Colombia.

I study the response of plants to stress. For this I use different tools, mainly physiological and molecular. Currently in my work, I'm looking for traits that will improve the carbon sequestration capacity in rice crops, finding a way to reduce the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere with a crop that feeds the world.

My goal is to keep working for a future where hunger is no longer a problem, fighting against the consequences of global warming, and at the same time looking forward to create more space for WOMEN in STEM.
