Oscar Amado Martínez Castillo

I was born in Jesús de Otoro, Intibucá; a town that produces a lot of rice and is three hours away from the capital of Honduras. I am an elementary school teacher with a degree in Biology. Professionally, I have served as a laboratory instructor of general biology class at the National Autonomous University of Honduras (2016 - 2018). Subsequently developing different consultancies both in CIAT framed in the Resilient Central America (ResCA) project, elaboration of Risk Management Plans with World Vision Honduras (2021) and surveyor for the monitoring system under the Transforming Market Systems Project ACDI/VOCA (2021). Currently research associate for the Climate Action team of the Bioversity-CIAT Alliance based in Tegucigalpa, implementing actions of CGIAR projects and initiatives (AgriLAC-Resiliente) that strengthen farmers' capacities and decision making at the local level. Volunteer in different organizations such as: TECHO in Honduras, Asociación Hondureña Protectora de Animales (AHPRA) and in the UNDP Trainer of Trainers Program.

Personal interests focused on: outdoor activities (hiking, camping, climbing), traveling and meeting people and villages, cooking and drinking coffee.
