Mirjam Pulleman

I am a Senior Scientist at Wageningen University and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) with expertise in soil biochemistry, soil ecology and agroecology.
My research focuses on:
(i) understanding soil health in relation to agroecosystem management and regenerative agricultural practices;
(ii) assessment of indicators of soil health and ecosystem services;
(iii) the relations between soil health, crop production and food safety.

I am particularly interested in working at the interface of science and application to enhance the sustainability and inclusiveness of (smallholder) tropical agriculture. During the past 5-10 years, I have been working mostly in perennial crops and agroforestry systems. I have ample international experience, including Europe, Africa, Asia, and especially Latin America. I am currently based in Colombia.
