Martina Jaskolski
(Mar)Tina Jaskolski is Human Geographer by training who has conducted research work in sustainability in the contexts of development, education, governance, gender equality, and resource management, as well climate change and climate security for over 20 years. Throughout her career, she has carried out research and development work in Australia, Germany, Indonesia, as well as the MENA region, where she has been based for 18 years. She has a strong qualitative and participatory research background and has led numerous applied research projects across rural Egypt and MENA as Associate Director of Research of the Research Institute for a Sustainable Environment of The American University in Cairo (AUC). Tina has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Sociology, Biology, Gender and Women's Studies, and Sustainable Development at AUC since 2009, between 2017 and 2020 as full-time Assistant Professor. From 2020 to 2023 worked as Climate Security Analyst with UNDP RBAS in Amman, based at the Arab Water Council in Cairo. She holds a PhD in Human Geography from the Australian National University, a Diploma in Geography from the University of Frankfurt, Germany, a master's degree in Southeast Asian Studies from the University of Frankfurt, and a bachelor's degree in Geography with First Class Honours from the University of Tasmania. Tina leads the Gender and Social Inclusion Research Area as part of the Climate Action (Lever 3) Leadership Team and leads CGIAR's MENA Regional Climate Security Hub in Cairo, Egypt.
