Luis Molina Carpio

Luis Molina Carpio is an environmental modeling expert specializing in climate and ecosystems modeling. He holds a Ph.D. in Meteorology, Oceanography, and Environmental Physics from the University of Paris-Saclay. He has been serving as an environmental modeler at the Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture since 2017. In this role, he developed and implemented methodologies for forest conservation based on mapping ecosystem services provision and delivery, and contributed to climate risk management and climate services delivery in Southeast Asia. Currently, he is based in Brazil, where he works with the private sector on generating evidence of the impact of private sector investments in agriculture on biodiversity and ecosystem services. His dedication lies in providing the agricultural sector with decision-making tools and actionable information to contribute to the transformation of food systems to address the challenges posed by climate, economic development, and society.
