Lennart Woltering

Lennart Woltering is the Sustainable Innovation and Transformation Lead under Digital Inclusion at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, based in Arusha, Tanzania. He has over 20 years of experience in innovation, scaling and systems change, with previous roles at ICRISAT, CIMMYT, GIZ, and in the private sector. His current work focuses on scaling strategies and partnership development for the Artemis project portfolio, which applies artificial intelligence and digital tools to strengthen agricultural research and development in the Global South. He developed the Scaling Scan, a practical tool used by organizations to assess challenges and opportunities for scaling innovations across diverse contexts. He also leads the Agriculture Working Group of the Scaling Community of Practice, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing on scaling in agricultural systems. He holds a PhD in Social Sciences from Wageningen University.
