Laurens Goormachtigh
Ever since he was little, Laurens has always been fascinated with how things work and how to make things better. This intrinsic curiosity led him to pursue product innovation projects immediately after graduating.
After graduating as a bioscience engineer at Ghent University, he served as a scientist at Scion Research in New Zealand, co-authored a patent and successfully secured government grant funding in Belgium. Laurens furthered his education with an MBA from Quantic University of Business and Technology. Over the past eight years, his career has been immersed in product management with a focus on the EdTech and AgroTech industries. He has successfully navigated both B2C and B2B projects, with a significant focus on SaaS solutions in start-up and scale-up companies.
Laurens excels in leading cross-functional teams, transforming ideas into successful products. A hands-on self-starter, he blends analytical and strategic thinking with effective communication.
In his current role in the Artemis team, he contributes to a more food secure future in the global south by accelerating new crop development using innovative phenotyping tools that leverage the power of computer vision and artificial intelligence. Laurens leads the product development team and is responsible for the product vision, strategy and roadmap.
