Jhon Jairo Tello
Within the Digital Inclusion research theme at the Alliance, Jhon holds a role as a Systems Analyst within the Data-Driven Sustainability group. His core focus centers on working with the Terra-i team, specializing in the monitoring and generation of comprehensive land cover and land use change data on a pantropical scale.
Jhon holds a master’s degree in Software Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali. He is the webmaster of the Terra-i project working on the development of the web platform and data processing, updating and visualisation. He has participated in the implementation and training of Terra-i users in several Latin American countries. He is a member of the Geospatial Information Technology (GIT) team within the SERVIR AMAZONIA project. Jhon brings expertise in drone piloting and field validation, encompassing information capture and inventory. His proficiency extends to programming languages and tools for geospatial data visualization and general information presentation, encompassing Python, JAVA, Google APIs, CartoDB, MapBox, and GEE, among others.
