Jesús Fernando Flórez Herrera

Fernando Flórez, Research Associate socioeconomic and environmental issues, works under the Tropical Forages Program at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT.

Fernando participates in the implementation of economic and environmental research in the CGIAR Initiatives: Livestock and Climate and Market Intelligence. His research focuses on understanding the functioning of the socioecological system in livestock sector. He works in the integral valuation of ecosystem services, economic evaluation of technologies, market studies, behavior modeling of stakeholders, economic valuation of emissions and mitigation strategies.

Fernando has relevant research experience in Latin America and ongoing projects in Africa. An Economist by training, he obtained his masters in Economics from the National University of Colombia in 2023.
