Aman Bonaventure Omondi

Aman Bonaventure Omondi is an Agricultural Scientist and Country Representative for Benin and Burundi, working on the management of pests and disease and seed systems for vegetatively propagated crops. His training was in Agricultural Education and Extension (BSc) and Agricultural Entomology.

His research covers two themes: Developing and testing innovative integrated pest and vector management approaches for the control of banana diseases (especially bunchy top disease) involves working with seed systems, field management of crops. The work on seed systems of vegetatively propagated crops feeds into disease management on the one hand but also seeks to improve seed access, health and diversity for small scale farmers, through institutional, technological and market/ social innovations.

Finally, He collaborates with social science and gender teams to assess the potential impediments and opportunities for the application and adoption of innovations from the two research areas.
