Vietnamese farmers debate options in the face of a changing climate

Researchers from the Climate Change, Agricultural and Food Security Program – including Bioversity International scientists – and farmers in Ma village, Vietnam, weigh up options for tackling climate risks.

What challenges and concerns are created by climate change, and how do farmers in Vietnam evaluate possible solutions?

In July, researchers from the Climate Change, Agricultural and Food Security Program – including Bioversity International scientists – and farmers in Ma village, northern Vietnam, weighed up different options for tackling climate risks specific to farming systems in this area.

The discussions of this start-up workshop are part of a region-wide programme across Lao PDR, Cambodia and Vietnam to introduce and test new climate-smart technologies that can have important implications for food security and income generation.
