Save the Date for the AgriTech4Tanzania Consultation Workshop

The AgriTech4Tanzania Consultation Workshop sets the stage for a high-level, participatory dialogue among key actors to co-design a more resilient, inclusive, and innovation-driven agricultural ecosystem in Tanzania.  

It aims to:  

• Facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogue: Encourage collaborative conversations on how agri-food and climate-tech innovations can address critical challenges related to productivity, youth employment, and climate resilience in Tanzania’s agriculture sector, with coffee and horticulture serving as illustrative cases.  
• Bridge Research and entrepreneurship: Strengthen the connection between scientific research, technological development, and market-driven entrepreneurship to support scalable, impactful agri-tech solutions across priority value chains.  
• Validate and prioritize key innovation themes for the AgriTech4Tanzania Innovation Challenge 2025, ensuring they reflect national development strategies (e.g. ASDP II), the needs of farmers, innovators, and policymakers, and private sector investment priorities.  
• Identify the agriculture value chains for targeted innovation support: Pinpoint strategic value chains—such as coffee, horticulture, maize, pulses, and sunflower—where innovation can deliver the greatest economic, environmental, and social returns.  
• Identify strategic partners: Build a coalition of committed partners who can co-develop, co-finance, and co-implement the challenge, including technical agencies, donors, accelerators, and industry players aligned with the challenge’s goals and values.  

• Public and private sector leaders in agriculture and digital innovation  
• Representatives from farmer organizations, accelerators, and incubators  
• Donors, development partners, and research institutions  
• Startups, agri-tech-entrepreneurs, and ecosystem enablers
