Discovering the World Food Map: An Interactive Atlas of Edible Biodiversity
Time: 9:00 a.m. Colombia | 10:00 a.m. New York | 4:00 p.m. Rome | 5:00 p.m. Nairobi
Join us for a global launch event introducing the World Food Map, an interactive atlas of edible biodiversity. It draws together data from diet surveys, genebanks, botanical and crop databases, and eaters - to highlight how diets can be improved with locally available foods that are culturally relevant, climate resilient, and nutritionally rich.
The map is also a platform for storytelling. It is a place to elevate and share the efforts of people everywhere to protect, conserve, and celebrate food diversity for healthy diets. Through stories and perspectives from various regions and sectors, we will explore ways agriculture can recognize, value, and elevate edible biodiversity to create healthier, more resilient food systems.
Everyone has a story of food. Please submit yours at this link so that it can be included on the map! Share A Story of Food for the World Food Map
