Complete nucleotide sequences of the infectious cloned DNAs of bean dwarf mosaic geminivirus
International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT)
https://hdl.handle.net/10568/43293
Abstract
Bean dwarf mosaic geminivirus (BDMV) was shown to have a bipartite genome (DNA-A and DNA-B) from restriction map and sequence data comparisons of cloned DNAs. The nucleotide sequences of the infectious clones of DNA-A and DNA-B were determined. Computer analyses showed that the bipartite genome of BDMV resembles that of other…

Tracing evolutionary and developmental implications of mitochondrial stoichiometric shifting in the common bean
International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT)
https://hdl.handle.net/10568/44193
Abstract
The recombination and copy number shifting activities of the plant mitochondrial genome are widely documented across plant genera, but these genome processes have not been as well examined with regard to their roles in plant evolution. Because of the extensive plant collections of Phaseolus spp and the degree…

International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT)
https://hdl.handle.net/10568/44005
Abstract
Organic resources constitute a major source of nutrient inputs to both soils and livestock in smallholder tropical production systems. Determination of resource quality attributes using current laboratory methods is both timely and costly. This study tested visible and near-…

Abstract
This study was carried out in the Eastern Plains of Colombia and assessed the impact of agricultural intensification on the structure of earthworm communities. Earthworms were hand-sorted in a variety of agroecosystems of increasing intensity, from natural savanna to pastures and annual crops. An agricultural intensification index was used…
