Yasmin Samir

Yasmin Samir is a Consultant, Agritech Accelerator Specialist for the MENA region at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, based in Cairo. She supports the Accelerate for Impact Platform by designing, planning, and implementing accelerator programs that help translate scientific research into scalable, market-ready innovations, across Egypt and the broader MENA region.   

Yasmin is an innovation and entrepreneurship specialist with extensive experience in technology transfer, startup acceleration, and national innovation program management. She served as Director of the National Technology Incubators Program (INTILAC) under Egypt’s Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT). In this role, she played a pivotal part in establishing technology incubators within major Egyptian institutions, overseeing their performance, guiding the selection of high-potential innovations, and providing technical mentorship to early-stage startups. Throughout her tenure at ASRT, she held several strategic leadership positions that contributed significantly to strengthening Egypt’s national science, technology, and innovation ecosystem.  

Yasmin holds a Bachelor of Arts from Cairo University, a diploma in Technology Transfer, and a diploma in Entrepreneurship Law from the American University in Cairo (equivalent to a master’s degree), providing her with a strong multidisciplinary foundation at the intersection of science, innovation, and legal frameworks.
