Wilson Nguru
Mr. Wilson Nguru is a Senior Research Associate and GIS Analyst at The Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT. He completed his Master of Science in Land and Water Management at the University of Nairobi, specializing in climate-resilient agriculture and sustainable water resources management. He led the Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) component within the AVENIR project in Senegal, focusing on enhancing the resilience of smallholder farmers through water conservation, efficient irrigation systems, and climate adaptation practices.
Mr. Nguru has published several research papers in peer-reviewed journals, addressing topics such as climate vulnerability assessment, modelling the proliferation of crop pests and diseases under climate change, the adoption of sustainable land management practices, and the utilization of Flood Residual Water for food security.
He is proficient in GIS and remote sensing, using ArcGIS and R for spatial modelling, hydrological watershed analysis (SWAT), and climate data interpretation. His teaching and technical disciplines include water resources management, irrigation systems design, hydrological modelling, and climate adaptation strategies, while his research interests encompass sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, and data-driven water management in Africa.
