Sarah Freed

Sarah Freed conducts transdisciplinary and action research in the domains of agri-food systems, natural resource management, and rural development. She holds a PhD in environmental science and management with concentrations in sustainability science and small-scale fisheries. Sarah has 10 years of experience facilitating participatory action research and co-production processes with diverse participants for natural resource management and agroecology. She has experience working in Eastern and Southern Africa, the Western Indian Ocean, and South and Southeast Asia. As a scientist in the Multifunctional Landscapes team of Alliance Bioversity International and CIAT, Sarah co-leads work on social inclusion, agency, and behavioral change.
