Sandra Vargas Gonzalez

Sandra Vargas Gonzalez holds a Master’s in Project Management and is an Economist with extensive experience in project monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, and the implementation of strategies that enhance the economic sustainability of rural producers. At the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, she has led processes involving data quality analysis, indicator design and tracking, report generation, and the training of technical teams and partners in the effective use of monitoring systems focused on results and learning.

She has also supported farmer associations in strengthening their commercialization capacities, promoting the development of business models, value-added product strategies, and the establishment of new market connections to improve competitiveness and access to commercial opportunities.

Sandra has experience in fundraising and proposal writing for governmental agencies, foundations, and international organizations, aimed at mobilizing resources and implementing initiatives that promote rural development and food security. Her professional approach combines the technical rigor of monitoring and evaluation with the strategic vision of rural business development, contributing to tangible, sustainable, and equitable impacts in agricultural communities.
