Natali Rendón

Natali is an agronomist engineer and a master's student in Rural Development. She currently works as a Research Associate at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, where she leads the agronomic component of the Biofortified Crops Program. Her work focuses on strengthening agronomic capacities among smallholder farmers, promoting regenerative practices, and improving productivity in rural areas.

She has participated in agronomic evaluation trials and the registration of new cultivars, contributing to the release of three new biofortified bean varieties in Colombia. She has also been in charge of biofortified seed multiplication, ensuring seed quality and availability for farmers and program partners.

In addition, she leads participatory breeding initiatives in beans and rice in collaboration with farmer associations and has coordinated training processes on the preparation of bio-inputs using on-farm residues as raw materials, promoting sustainable alternatives for crop management.
