Henintsoa Onivola Minoarivelo

Dr H.O. Minoarivelo is a systems scientist based in Cape Town, South Africa. She is a theoretical ecologist by training and holds a PhD in mathematical ecology and a MSc in computer science from Stellenbosch University. With the help of computational simulations, she uses tools offered by mathematics and statistics to build models that are being used to understand the functioning of socio-ecological systems. A major focus of her research is the modelling of socio-ecological networks of interactions, especially on how these systems respond to perturbations such as climate change. At at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, she is part of the Climate Security team, her current role consists of developing analytics and models to help understand the complexity of fragile and conflict-affected settings.
