Fabian David Navarro Cano

Fabian is an Applied Mathematician from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Cali, with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence, particularly in Machine Learning and Deep Learning. He has five years of experience in developing mathematical and AI models across different sectors, with the last three and a half years dedicated to the agricultural field. He currently works as a Research Associate in the Biotechnology Division of the Crops for Nutrition and Health platform at Alliance Bioversity & CIAT, where he develops projects that integrate remote sensing and artificial intelligence for forage biomass estimation, optimization of grazing systems through graph theory, and animal welfare assessment using computer vision. His work has been funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF), and he collaborates with institutions such as JICA, JST, Chubu University (Japan), Nagoya University (Japan), AGROSAVIA, and FEDEGAN. Fabian leads field teams and oversees MAFF project activities under the supervision of Dr. Manabu Ishitani.
