Esther Joseph Cheyo
Esther Joseph Cheyo is a Senior Research Associate scaling for the Artemis Project, focusing on digital inclusion in Africa. Based in Arusha, Tanzania, she leads research initiatives aimed at scaling AI-driven agricultural technology to provide farmers with quality seeds, thereby strengthening food systems and promoting healthy diets across the continent.
Before joining Artemis, Esther supported scaling efforts in 31 PABRA countries, analyzing data from national research systems, seed producers, traders, and farmers to develop strategies for sustainable seed systems and mechanized crop technologies in East Africa. She has accelerated the Multi-Crop Thresher (MCT) adoption and enhancing market linkages under the Accelerate program with Alliance Bioversity International.
Esther holds an MSc in Agri-Enterprises Development from Gulu University and a BBA in Entrepreneurship and Development from Mzumbe University. With expertise in market systems, seed value chains, and digital innovation, she is passionate about driving impactful change. Outside of work, Esther enjoys travelling, photography, cooking, and exploring nature.
