Diego Álvarez

Diego Álvarez is an economist from the University of Valle and currently works with the Foresight and Applied Economics team at PISA. Over the past seven years at CIAT and the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, his work has focused on survey design and implementation, data analysis, data visualization, and the preparation of reports and manuscripts for socioeconomic studies in Latin America and Africa. His research experience includes applying approaches to study food environments, conducting value chain analyses, and assessing socioeconomic dynamics in agricultural and rural contexts. One of his most notable recent contributions to the Alliance is the analysis of the socioeconomic impacts of Fusarium Tropical Race 4 on banana production in Latin America and the Caribbean.
