Aya Mounir

MENA Ecosystem Engagement and Project Support; at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT of CGIAR. As part of the Accelerate for Impact Platform team. Aya supports the development and execution of projects in the MENA region as well as ecosystem engagement. By bringing together her extensive experience in youth and partners engagement in the food and climate space. 

Aya has a background in food systems and international agri-business management, as well as climate justice and climate negotiations. Holding an engineering degree in Agri-Food Industries from IAV Hassan II-Morocco, Bioengineering in Bio-Industries and Chemistry degree from the University of Liège-Belgium and a degree in International Agribusiness Management at ISAM-Spain. Before joining the Alliance, Aya has served as a Moroccan Party Delegate to key UN climate negotiations, she has also interned at the Moroccan Ministry of Energy transition and Sustainable Development. 

Beyond formal negotiations, Aya was acting as the Food & Agriculture Contact Person for YOUNGO (Youth&Children Major Group) under the UNFCCC, co-leading initiatives and event at COPs and Youth engagement at High-Level dialogues and initiatives among other projects such as the Youth Food Lab co-led by FAO-Office of Youth & Women and IAAS, the International Association of Agricultural Students where she has worked for more than 5 years.
