Request for Expression of Interest (EOI)
The Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT (a CGIAR Center) invites qualified Egypt-based accelerators to design and deliver a series of three (3) high-impact innovation challenges for agri-tech solutions under the AgriTech4Egypt: Technological Innovation in AgriFood Sector in Egypt project (AID 13162).

The assignment will support the development, validation, and scaling of climate-smart, market-oriented agritech startups and innovation teams in Egypt through structured bootcamps, accelerator programs, mentorship, and investor engagement. The selected service provider will be responsible for delivering annual innovation challenges, supporting the cohorts to strengthen technical and business capacity, and connect cohorts with research networks, industry players, and financing opportunities.
Applicants should demonstrate the following:
- Legal registration in Egypt, with strong experience delivering accelerator programs across the MENA region and active engagement in Egypt’s innovation ecosystem
- In-house technical capacity to evaluate and support agritech solutions
- Proven track record supporting agritech startups through training, mentorship, and market access
- Interdisciplinary expertise across agri-food systems, climate action, and natural resource management
- Solid understanding of Egypt’s agricultural context, challenges, and opportunities
- Financial viability, with a clear, justified, and cost-efficient budget
Submissions
The deadline for submitting EOIs is 10 May 2026. Applicants are requested to submit a cover letter, an organizational profile (with a track record of similar support programs for agritech, qualifications and experience of personnel, and ecosystem engagement), and legal documentation as proof of registration and operational presence in Egypt.

The AgriTech4Egypt: Technological Innovation in AgriFood Sector in Egypt (AID 13162) is a three (3)-year project led by the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT (a CGIAR Center), funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), and supported by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). It is endorsed by the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and implemented in collaboration with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), and the Agricultural Research Centre (ARC). The project will be carried out through an accelerator or service provider selected via a competitive process and will be supported by a wide network of local, regional, and international partners, including actors of Sistema Italia.
