This report provides initial inputs for understanding the strategies required to develop and strengthen local environmental governance agreements aimed at promoting equitable access to and use of threatened water-related natural resources—including páramo ecosystems and water sources—by both women and men in Nariño, Colombia. The report has been developed within the framework of the MultiFunctional Landscapes (MFL) Science Program. Particular attention is given to the governance of the Cuacé River due to its critical role in sustaining the hydrological integrity and water supply of the Blanco River basin
