The Working Group at its twelfth meeting (16-19 September 2024) agreed with a number of activities proposed by the Co-Chairs for the intersessional period. One of these activities was the establishment of a small group tasked with redrafting text on direct use in the package of measures.

The mandate of the Small Group was “to redraft text on direct use in the package of measures.” The text on direct use can be found in the draft Resolution (paragraph 6) and in the draft revised Standard Material Transfer Agreement (Article 6.1bis) of the negotiating text.

The Working Group agreed that the text may be enhanced by considering technical and policy issues, taking into account Article 12.3a of the International Treaty, subject to national legislation and as appropriate.
