Nestlé and the Alliance shape a global standard for regenerative coffee farming

Between 2023 and 2024, the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT developed a global, science-based guidebook to operationalize regenerative agriculture in coffee systems across Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
Responding to sector-wide urgency, shaped by climate projections and corporate sustainability commitments, the initiative aligned stakeholders—including corporations, platforms, and agronomists—around a shared framework.
Designed for technical advisors and supply chain actors rather than farmers directly, the guidebook translates broad commitments into concrete practices and has become a strategic reference shaping corporate policies, training systems, and sector-wide standards.
